When a major pharmaceutical company
needed a network of key opinion leaders trained to talk about their new drug, Carmie coached more than 30 high-profile physicians throughout the U.S. to articulate their messages to a jaded press and a curious public.

When the executive director of a nonprofit organization became a candidate for the highest position of a well-known national association, she turned to Carmie to help her prepare for the most important interview of her career. The hours of research, message development, and mock interview practice paid off. The association’s board of directors unanimously voted in favor of her and she was named its new president.

When the Institute of Medicine released the results of the National Report Card on Quality Health Care in America’s hospitals, Carmie prepared hospital administrators and key executives at more than 100 medical centers to handle the onslaught of tough questions from reporters and put the scores in proper perspective.

When the executive director of a prominent community service institution needed to ask donors for the funds to cover the cost of computers for a new after-school program, Carmie assisted in crafting a presentation that appealed to the emotions of her audience. The results: The institution received donations covering all of the costs of the program within 48 hours.

Prior to a major trade show, the CEO of a mid-sized technology company became the target of a series of negative media stories regarding his compensation at a time of company lay-offs. Carmie taught the company’s senior sales executives attending the trade show how to develop and deliver messages that redirected negative questions and focused media attention on the company’s new services.

As one of the most respected health care centers in the mid-Atlantic, one hospital constantly found itself in the media spotlight. Reporters regularly contacted its physicians and hospital officials for professional comments on topics as varied as surviving avian flu to overcrowding in emergency rooms. Carmie taught interview techniques to more than 50 department heads and front line medical personnel enabling them to quickly and credibly respond to both expected and unexpected questions from reporters.
